Add Public Reference

How to connect a public reference to a file that is already recorded.

Before you start

The file must already be recorded first. Public Reference is an optional next step that depends on an existing recorded hash.

What you enter

You provide the recorded hash, choose a reference type, and enter a public reference such as a URL, DOI, article, report page, source page, or other public identifier.

What it means

This records that a public reference was attached to a file that is already recorded. It does not decide authorship, ownership, originality, or whether the reference is the only, first, or official source.
